Meditation is the biggest form of Service

Meditation is often seen as an act of self-love and self-acceptance.

When influencers talk about Meditation, it is usually geared to oneself. The most common sentences we hear are, “Meditation is a form of self-love,” “Take time for yourself,” “Feel your feelings,” etc.

While all of that is true, did you know that Meditation is one of the most powerful forms of service you can do for others? Consistent Meditation can have magical effects on the world.

We live in a world where 90% of the content found on Social media and news channels is negative. As days progress, this number is on the rise. Even the people with good intentions are often stuck in this negative cycle.

I get up every morning and read articles on medium. Lately, it has become challenging to find even 3 or 4 pieces that enrich the soul. People complain, convey their anger, hatred, sadness, grief, which is all good, but it’s become difficult to find articles that uplift the soul. There is a lack of balance.

Here’s where Meditation can have a considerable impact to change your perspective towards people and the world.

  • When a person consistently meditates, their level of self-awareness increases.
  • They do not see people based on what is being fed to them.
  • Judgments towards others often disappear and are replaced by a sense of empathy and understanding. In most common terms, they are at a higher vibration.
  • They also attain a sense of humility — courage in admitting that they don’t know all the things in the world and are willing to learn.
  • They gain the power to highlight a problem but also provide a message of hope.

Even at a personal level, Meditation can have a massive impact on others. I have seen the structure of families change when a single person starts thinking positively.

They gain the power to diffuse even the most stressful conversations. Slowly you notice their friends, family members, relatives, kids, animals all change.

Meditation increases our mental strength and helps us focus on the big picture. So next time when you feel lazy or demotivated to skip your 15 minute Meditation for the day, think about this:

Meditation is a charity you are providing to the world. You are changing the world by making it more loving, peaceful, and kinder.

Use your superpower. Don’t just do it for yourself, do it for the world.
